Armed Forces charities in South West receive over £660,000

The government has announced that 100 Armed Forces charities will benefit from over £5.5million of extra funding to support serving personnel, veterans and their families during the coronavirus pandemic…

As part of this, 13 charities based in the South West will receive a total of £666,378.

DEVON (3 CHARITIES AWARDED £189,000)

  • The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, based in Lympstone – £125,000
  • Improving Lives Plymouth, based in Plymouth – £40,000
  • The Veterans Charity, based in Barnstaple – £24,000

CORNWALL (2 CHARITIES AWARDED £42,836)

  • Surf Action, based in Redruth – £30,000
  • Smart Savings South West CIC, based in Redruth – £12,836

DORSET (3 CHARITIES AWARDED £95,610)

  • Future for Heroes, based in Bovington – £39,000
  • Special Boat Service Association, based in Poole – £31,610
  • The Veterans Hub Weymouth and Portland CIC, based in Weymouth – £25,000

BRISTOL (1 CHARITY AWARDED £59,780)

  • Step Together, based in Bristol – £59,780

GLOUCESTERSHIRE (1 CHARITY AWARDED £7,770)

  • Gloucester Rugby Foundation, based in Gloucester – £7,770

WILTSHIRE (3 CHARITIES AWARDED £271,382)

  • Help for Heroes, based in Salisbury – £150,000
  • Alabaré Christian Care and Support, based in Salisbury – £62,462
  • Recruit for Spouses Career Academy CIC, based in Corsham – £58,920
