STATEMENT ON LATEST BREXIT PROPOSAL

Although I will give every consideration to the Prime Minister’s latest proposal, as I did with the 585-page Withdrawal Agreement, the initial signs suggest that I will be unable to support it for several reasons.

Scott holds jobs fair with Launceston Town Council and Job Centre Plus

On Friday we teamed up with Job Centre Plus and Launceston Town Council to host a jobs fair in Launceston Town Hall where we had over 30 businesses and organisations attend.

It was great to meet all the local businesses and see so many people eager to get involved, a fantastic success.

Bathing Waters Bill update

I've had productive discussions with Defra officials regarding my Bathing Waters Bill which aims to radically reduce sewage pollution in our marine environment.

Great Western Railway North Cornwall Projects

Reconnecting Bodmin General with the mainline is something my constituents have called for since I was first elected in 2015, so I am delighted to have been a part of delivering this new feasibility study from GWR.

World Parkinson's Day 2019

I’m proud to be supporting World Parkinson’s Day on the 11th April. Parkinson’s is a serious neurological condition in which 2 people in the space of an hour will be diagnosed in the UK.

St Mabyn Post Office

I have been aware for some time that the St Mabyn Post Office branch is currently considering moving its site from the current location to St Mabyn Community Shop, Wadebridge Road, St Mabyn, Bodmin, PL30 3BG.

Parish and Town Council Reviews

The first review of parish and town councils across Cornwall since the 1970s is now taking place.

The review was prompted after a review of Cornwall Council’s electoral arrangements by the Boundary Commission made changes affecting 29 parishes.

Scott's voting record on Brexit delay (April 10th 2019)

Over 31'000 people (60%) from North Cornwall, myself included, voted to leave the EU in 2016. Last night I was asked to turn my back on them and delay Brexit again. I refused and voted AGAINST the delay.
