National Apprenticeship Week 2019

This week is National Apprenticeship Week 2019.

This week we are celebrating the amount of apprenticeships that are offered around the country, but especially the number of apprentices that are working here in North Cornwall.

World Pasty Championships

I would like to pass on a huge congratulations to all the winners at this years World Pasty Championship on Saturday 2nd. This event, held at the Eden project, brought in a huge crowd of spectators in addition to a vast array of pasty bakers from all around the country.

Hi5 Cafe Group

I was delighted to get the chance to speak to members of Hi5 Talk Time café in Bude. The café is a fantastic community service that provides support for under 5’s with special/additional needs and their parents.

ICC World Cup trophy tour

I am pleased to receive news that the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy is set to do a tour of England and Wales to mark the 100 day countdown to the beginning of the competition.

Human Rights Committee

Scott is delighted to have been appointed to the Humans Rights Committee and is looking forward to the future working to achieve their goals.

The Royal British Legion

As I’m sure many of you are already aware, the 6th June 2019 marks the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. This definitive moment during the Second World War is still to this day the largest seaborne invasion of all time.

Waste System Overhaul

I’m pleased with the news that the government is planning on overhauling the waste system in the UK. The plan is to send consultations to overhaul the waste system, cut plastic pollution, and move towards a more circular economy.

Association of Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities

I was happy to sponsor and lead a delegation of the Association of Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities to Westminster. The team do fantastic work in assisting and promoting the conservation of our inshore fisheries around the UK.


It was a privilege to attend the Passing out ceremony of the next 8 Tri-Service Safety Officers at the Cornwall Operational Police Headquarters in Bodmin last week.
