Today, the Prime Minister has announced £300 million to upgrade A&E facilities across England, ensuring they are prepared to continue delivering world-class care in the winter months ahead.

  • This will include £2.8m for RCHT.

  • Thanks to the sacrifices of the British public, we have made huge progress in tackling coronavirus. We must now ensure our NHS is ready for the coming winter.

  • NHS Trusts will receive a share of £300 million for A&E projects which will be completed by the start of next year, which could include increasing capacity for more patients to reduce waiting times, improving infection control and increasing the provision of same day emergency care.

  • The Prime Minister will also urge the public to feel confident to visit A&E if they need to. The NHS has measures in place to keep people safe and it is vital those in need of hospital treatment receive it.

  • We continue to deliver on our promise to build back better and faster, investing in vital infrastructure like hospitals to create jobs, kickstart our economy and support our brilliant NHS.

The NHS

Residents in North Cornwall have to travel considerable distances to access specialist NHS services. I shall campaign to get more frequent, local and specialised National Health clinics in North Cornwall.

I fully agree that as many services as possible should be provided locally. When elected I shall join my colleagues who want to expand the scope and responsibilities of the GP and community hospital services. I am determined that our excellent doctors, nurses, midwives, GPs and all other staff are given the support they need.

Scott Mann MP: Reporting back - Week of June 20th 2022

Monday, 20 June, 2022

Supporting North Cornwall's families with the cost of living is my number one priority. This government has taken swift action to deal with the crisis, and although many of the issues causing price rises are due to issues outside of our control, we are doing everything we can to help.
