Last week I held several meetings in Parliament with industry groups and departments that have an important role in North Cornwall. Firstly, I met with UKHospitality to discuss the hospitality and tourist sector in the constituency which is a big part of life here in North Cornwall.
This weekend I was out in North Cornwall observing Remembrance Day. It is important to come together as one nation to remember those who have sacrificed everything in service of King and country, to protect democratic freedoms.

As you will have seen in the news last week, the government has made a firm decision to cancel the northern stage of the HS2 project and reallocate funding to other infrastructure programmes across the country.
The government has launched the application process for the Community Automated External Defibrillators (AED) fund. Community organisations can now apply for a grant to fund a life-saving defibrillator for their local area.
I am pleased to let you know that the Government have announced an expansion to the Coastal Transition Accelerator programme and that Bude, North Cornwall, is one of the areas to benefit. This project plans to make community assets and tourism assets, more resilient to the eroding coastline.
